Fundraising Appeal
Aftab Peter and his family have endured the unthinkable: fleeing the place they called their home in Pakistan after being targeted by the toxic blasphemy laws for simply doing his job as a printer. They had to leave everything behind to escape the shadow of a mandatory death sentence and live as undocumented fugitives in Sri Lanka. But now, after thirteen years of fear and uncertainty, they are just one final hurdle away from permanent safety and the hope of a new life, free from fear and the promise of freedom in Canada.
The Story of Aftab Peter and his Family
An experienced printer and devoted father, Aftab was running his legitimate business when anonymous threats began flooding his phone - vile accusations of “distributing Christian literature to Muslims to convert them”. All because he had finished printing children’s Bible stories and given them out for binding. When the extremists filed a formal complaint, Aftab knew his family's time in Pakistan, the country of their birth, was over. A close group of friends, including his pastor, helped them escape, forcing them to leave behind their home, their livelihood, and everything else that they called their own. The sad irony is that even the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) rejected their claim on technical grounds, leaving them without official protection and completely exposed to the vagaries of life as an undocumented migrant.
This is where Links & Consolidation Network (LinCoN) steps in. LinCoN’s mission is dedicated to assisting and empowering individuals, like Aftab, who have been forcibly displaced due to religious persecution and rejected by conventional refugee agencies based on mere technicalities. LinCoN leverages its global network of communities, organisations, and legal experts to provide the knowledge, resources, and support needed to successfully obtain visas and create concrete pathways to a safe haven in welcoming countries like Canada and Australia. With a proven track record of processing asylum seekers, LinCoN provides the assurance and professional coordination necessary to turn desperation into documented freedom.
The Final Step to Freedom: Your Christmas Gift
We have secured an agreement with the Office of Refugees, Archdiocese of Toronto (ORAT), a certified Canadian Sponsorship Agreement Holder. They have reviewed Aftab’s case and are ready to sponsor his family’s resettlement in Canada. The path to permanent safety is now clear, but it has one final, mandatory requirement: The Canadian government requires a CAD 48,000 (AUD 53,000) financial undertaking to guarantee the family’s support during their first year of integration.
Aftab Peter and his family have tried to secure their life by fleeing from persecution and certain death. Now YOU can help them secure a future.
